Naseeruddin Shah is the leading cast in ‘Charlie Ke Chakkar Mein’ besides a plenty of newcomers and the film’s producer says the veteran actor is not charging any fee for his role. The 61-year-old actor plays a cop in the crime thriller, Karan Arora said, who earlier produced the film ‘Bhindi Bazaar Inc’.
Producer Karan Arora further added, “We are happy to have Naseeruddin sir on-board. It was director Manish Srivastav who convinced him to join the film. They have known each other for long and have worked together in theatre. Naseer sir liked the script of the film and also wanted to support the young theatre actors in the film.”
“Naseer Sir didn’t charge anything for the film. It’s a low budget film and we were in no position to talk terms with him. We could have never been able to match up to his fees. He is not doing a cameo, he has a full-fledged role in the film,” he added.
The movie resembles the real life case of Simran Sood and Vijay Palande. We had written the script long before this incident happened and were surprised to see that the movie’s track is similar to the real case. It made us trust more in the characters that we had drawn and convinced us that such people do exist,” Arora said.
The film’s storyline bears an uncanny resemblance to the recent Vijay Palande and Simran Sood case where the duo is accused of murdering 28-year-old Karan Kumar Kakkar.
The movie is currently under production and is expected to be released next year.
