Madhuri Dixit, 45-year-old Bollywood diva, Madhuri Dixit who has been in the industry for more than two decades now, said she accomplished this position in the industry with a lot of hardwork and is happy that people still think of her as a winner actress.
“It may be my millionth award but it is important to me as it indictes that people still think of me,” said Madhuri Dixit Nene as she was honoured with the platinum diva award for excellence in the field of acting.
“Thank you for the award. I am very proud. This honor proves that even today people remember me of as someone substantial and with integrity. I have been here due to a lot of hard work and its wonderful to know that people see me in that light,” said Madhuri, who was accompanied by her doctor husband Shriram Nene to Planman Media’s Powerbrands Hall of Fame awards held here last night.
Veteran actor Tom Alter was rewarded for his exemplary contribution to Indian theatre while celebrity chef Vikas Khanna was awarded as India Ki Shaan for his culinary skills.
Former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen was also rewarded with the woman entrepreneur award for leading her beauty pageant organisation, I Am She.
“This is the first time in 18 years in showbiz that I am getting an award for being an entrepreneur. I am very thankful. It has been a journey for me. I won Miss Universe in 1994, got to do my first film ‘Dastak’ as an actor and now I receive my first entrepreneur award,” the 36-year-old said.
The Hall of Fame rising star male and female awards were given to “Ekk Deewana Tha” actor Prateik Babbar and “Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl” actress Parineeti Chopra respectively.
“I don’t intend to show off but this is my 15th award this year and it sure feels great. Just a year ago I was not even thinking to become an actress, always dreamed of becoming a banker but I suppose destiny plays its role,” Parineeti said.
