Anurag Kashyap has reason to celebrate. Three of his films (Gangs of Wasseypur Part 1 and 2 and Peddlers) have made it to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Anurag’s directorial venture Gangs of Wasseypur Part 1 and 2 have been selected for the Cannes Director’s Fortnight to be held in May while another of his production Peddlers directed by debutant Vasan Bala makes it to the Critics Week at Cannes.
Gangs of Wasseypur talks about the coal mafia in Jharkhand and stars Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddique, Richa Chadda and Huma Qureshi. Peddlers meanwhile talks about Mumbai, a lady on a mission, a man living a lie and an aimless drifter and stars Gulshan Devaiyah, Kriti Malhotra and Nishikant Kamat.
