Following the success of ‘Dhoom’ (2004) and ‘Dhoom 2′ (2006) there is already a lot of talk about the third, where Aamir will be pictured as a baddie and has been cast opposite Katrina Kaif.
Actor Uday Chopra supposes ‘Dhoom 3′ is riding on Aamir Khan since the third episode in the action film franchise has got larger with the superstar being roped in.
“Now the pressure is on Aamir Khan. With Aamir, whatsoever he touches turns to gold and with him in a brand like Dhoom, it makes it more popular than anything else. We are all excited,” Uday said.
Chopra is surprised with the response the ‘Dhoom’ series has gathered over the time period.
“We did not expect it to be this big. We realized people wanted comedy and action but children really loved the film a lot. When we began ‘Dhoom’, none of us — Abhishek, John or me — were big stars, I believe the action was the feature of the film and that is why it has done so well,” said Chopra.
“I am growing my hair and doing my own stunts. Fortunately for me I have done this role earlier so I don’t have to prepare too much, I just require to learn my lines and show up,” he said.
‘Dhoom’ series focuses on daring theft plans, handsome thieves and bike chases.
Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will carry on to repeat their roles as Jai and Ali in ‘Dhoom 3′. It is for the third time that Uday will be acting the role of a con-turned-cop, so he does not have to prepare this time.
Uday’s love-hate partner in the film, Abhishek Bachchan, believes the look of both the characters — Jai and Ali — should more or less stay the same.
“When you are speaking a franchise like ‘Dhoom’, altering the look of your heroes in each film will not work. I don’t want to cast off the image we have of Jai Dixit. If I come up all of a sudden with a different body and different clothes, he will lose his characteristics,” said Abhishek.
“Like Ali is said to be a comic character with one liners and Jai is supposed to be no-nonsense kind of guy who is not bothered just about what he is wearing. I believe minor cosmetic changes are fine but I would not like to change Jai and Ali too much,” he said.
Abhishek also rejected rumours of carrying out the Hindi version of lately released bilingual socio fantasy film ‘Eega’ directed by S S Rajamouli. “No I am not doing it. Not that I know of,” he said.
